Description
PoE-INJECTOR Lite provides a stable power supply via a twisted pair cable in places where there are no outlets and wires, for remote devices such as IP cameras, IP phones, data reading devices, etc.
Brand: ATIS
One of the biggest advantages of IP cameras is the ability to transmit signal and video camera footage over a single cable. This function is called PoE - Power over Ethernet. This feature allows significant savings on cable and simplifies installation.
PURPOSE
In order to transmit power over an Ethernet cable (usually a UTP Category 5 cable), a special device is required - a PoE injector, which introduces voltage into the signal cable.
The PoE injector has an input, an output, and a 220V power cable with a plug at the end. The input (LAN) is connected to the cable from your switch or computer, depending on where the signal comes from, and the output (PoE) is connected to the IP camera itself, which is powered by the injector.
As a rule, modern IP cameras use PoE standards IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3at, according to which 48 V is transmitted over the cable. Increased voltage (low current) allows sufficient power to be transmitted over the thin veins of the UTP cable to power the IP video camera itself.
