Description
DDR5 is the 5th generation of double data rate synchronous dynamic random-access memory, also known as DDR5 SDRAM. Development began in 2017 due to limitations of industry standards set by JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) with participation from leading global semiconductor memory and chipset architecture suppliers, including Kingston. DDR5 memory introduces new features to enhance performance, reduce power consumption, and improve data integrity for computing systems of the next decade. DDR5 memory was introduced in 2021.
