Improved design, increased efficiency
Increased performance due to increased banks and burst length. DDR5 supports up to 32 banks (memory blocks that can be enabled and disabled separately), grouped into 8 bank groups, providing twice the accessibility compared to 16 banks in DDR4 modules. The burst length (the amount of data that a single DRAM read/write command can access) of DDR5 is also twice as large as in DDR4.
Reduced operating voltage, more rational energy consumption
The standard operating voltage has been reduced from 1.2 V (DDR4 modules) to 1.1 V, which reduces power consumption for each bandwidth. This saves energy and reduces the load on the network. To minimize noise interference, power management has been moved from the motherboard to the RAM with an additional integrated power management IC (PMIC) for efficient system load management.
Built-in ECC function, stable system operation
DDR5 memory modules are equipped with a built-in ECC function that self-corrects DRAM cell errors, ensuring the stability of DRAM systems using DDR5.
